Choose your walk at Letterfrack

Connemara National Park covers roughly 2,000 hectares of mountains, bog, heath, grassland and woodland. From the visitor centre at Letterfrack, choose a shorter nature trail or continue towards Diamond Hill for the bigger views.

Conditions can change quickly, so bring layers and proper footwear. On a clear day, the summit route rewards the climb with a remarkable sweep of coast, islands and the Twelve Bens.

Continue to Kylemore

Kylemore Abbey is a natural second half to the day. Explore the restored rooms, the neo-Gothic church, Victorian Walled Garden and woodland paths, then stop for tea before the drive back through the Connemara landscape.

Opening times and admission vary through the year, so check Kylemore’s own website before setting out.
